Could you explain what a roost ring is? Not sure I understand what this is.

Subject: [birdky] Purple Martin roost rings
The Lexington, Glasgow, and Campbellsville Purple Martin roost rings are now
very noticeable on morning radar loops. If anyone is in the vicinity of the
roost in the evening or morning, it would be interesting to get a count of
birds. Although it is hard to tell exactly where they are originating, they
appear to be the in the same locations as last year.
