Yesterday, at Echo Springs in Mammoth Cave Nat'l Park we had good looks at two pileateds. Close together on the same tree at one point. You can always count on hearing and seeing several pileateds at MaCa. Had a great full wingspan look while flying close by down the trail in front of us. I could see how one could mistake it for an Ivory Bill. We camp at MaCa at least one day a month and you can hear pileateds every trip, especially around Maple Springs and at the Dennison Ferry. This morning we have one kestrel on the line 300 ft in front of our house. Beautiful on a cold winter day. Wonder where the other kestrel is? Preston
