[birdky] Pike Co. FOS, etc.

Hi All,
Les and I have seen/heard lots of First of Season birds 4/29 AND 5/1:
OVENBIRD, YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, HOODED WARBLER, GRASSHOPPER SPARROW,
SAVANNAH SPARROW, FIELD SPARROW, VESPER SPARROW, INDIGO BUNTING, YELLOW
WARBLER, BALTIMORE ORIOLE, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO. Also of
note: the BARRED OWLS have been extremely active and noisy. It sounds as
if this year's "crop" has become venturesome. WOOD THRUSH have been
serenading us when we eat meals on the patio and early in the morning
while we are still in bed. By leaving several windows and the sliding
glass door open in our upstairs bedroom, we have the full advantage of
hearing them. Of course, sometimes we wish that the CARDINALS were not
so verbal VERY early in the morning!

Cheers, Joan of Art and Nature
