[birdky] Petros Pond

While on vacation last week I was able to bird Petros
Pond on 4 occasions. The best find is a Osprey that
has taken temporary residence at the pond. It has been
amusing to watch him and a Great Blue Heron fight to
be king of the hill, the hill being the top of a
telephone pole next to the pond. The Osprey has been
catching small bass regularly. What a sight to view
this magnificent bird from only 150 feet with a 60x
scope. The lady who lives in the house next to the
pond has placed a chair next to it and is alson
watching it with her binoculars. Other birds seen are:

Semipalmated plover
White-rumped sandpiper
Least sandpiper
Semipalmated sandpiper
Pectoral sandpiper
Solitary sandpiper
Common snipe
Killdeer
Green heron
