East Ky Bird Club and Daniel Boone National Forest will once again be hositng a bird walk. Saturday, May 14 for International Migratory Bird Day. We will meet at 7:30 a.m at the Shallow Flats Wildlife Viewing Area on KY 801 and walk up Scott's Creek Road, looking for warblers and wetland species. The walk should last approximately 2 hours. This walk is not recommended for children. In the past we have offered eagle viewing in the afternoon, but unfortunately, this year both eagles have abandoned their nest. You can spend the afternoon on your own at the Minor Clark Fish Hatchery, or on one of the many traills in the area. Be aware that Cave Run is the highest it has been in history, so some of the trails and campgrounds are flooded. If you need more information, feel free to contact me.
