Barbara Woerner located an Olive-Sided Flycatcher at Cherokee Park in
Louisville today, Saturday, May 16. The bird was spotted in the area behind
Nettleroth Bird Sanctuary. Follow Maple Hill Road nearly to the top. Take the
downhill trail on the right. Follow the trail up to the turn at the Ginkgo
tree. Looking out over the meadow, locate the tall trees to the left and right
of the meadow with the dead snags. The bird was seen perched in the snags. If
you don't see the bird, listen for its song. (Quick! Three Beers!) There are
Acadian Flycatchers in the area as well.
