[birdky] Olive branch eagle nest/loud frogs

One of the two eaglets remained yesterday and today on the nest. Two adults
were in the tree, one feeding the remaining eaglet. The departing eaglet left
sometime during the last four days. I have a feeling it is still close to the
nest because there was a cry close by that sounded like it could have been a
young eagle, probably wondering where its dinner was.

Meanwhile, I kayaked through Sugar Creek that empties into Ky. Lake at Irvin
Cobb Resort. There was what I believe to be the southern leopard frog
chugging so loudly that I could hear them far away. When I paddled right
through the loud chorus, they never shut up. It was somewhere between the
cadence of " I think I can, I think I can" in The Little Engine That Could and
a bunch of chachalacas. I also believe there is a nesting of great blues back
there as there were many flyovers and what sounded like young ones.

I went in search of shorebirds, but found only three semi-palmated sandpipers
skirting around the boat ramp between loading and unloading boats. Mosquitoes
were unforgiving at Blood River backwaters.
