Herring Gull

Sandhill Crane:   

3 flocks totalling approximately 300 birds.  Two
flocks northbound, one southbound.

Bald Eagle  4 adults and a 2nd yr.

American Pipit  150  Bailey's Point area

Palm Warbler  flock of 7  Bailey's Point area

Palm Warbler  2 at McElroy  (ditch)

Watching the Merlin was quite a thrill today.  It
separated a lark from a small flock and made repeated
shallow stoops of only a few yards at it as the lark
rose attempting to stay above the falcon.  They both
ascended to an altitude of several hundred feet.  The
Merlin eventually gave up on the lark and made a
lightning-like stoop into the field across the road
that would have done a Peregrine justice.  We then
lost sight of it.

Up to 21 Chipping Sparrows in yard daily
