[birdky] Non-game wildlife call-in on KY Afield

Believe it or not, I'm not a paid spokesperson for the Kentucky Department of
Fish & Wildlife. :-) But in case you're interested, this Saturday's topic on
Kentucky Afield is non-game wildlife -- which includes birds!

Sounds like there will be a panel of wildlife biologists and the host fielding
questions from callers. This might be a good opportunity to share your concerns
regarding birds and habitat to the panel. I'm especially curious if there any
plans to make Otter Creek Park a wildlife management area, or if that idea is
off the table.

Kentucky Afield airs on KET 1 on Saturday at 8:30 PM and is rebroadcast on KET
2 at 4:30 PM on Sunday. (I think! Better check your local listing.) Here is a
link to their website:

You can also watch clips of the show on YouTube at:

There is a nice clip on conservation efforts regarding White Nose syndrome in
Brown Bats up now.

I'm off to look for that Brown Pelican.

Good birding everyone,
