There is a young mulberry tree in the back yard that my bedroom window overlooks, and although the berries have only just taken on a hint of red, I had a constant flock of cedar waxwings here today. I also got my first ever kingbird and northern oriole in the yard today, and during the worst of the downpour the oriole was flat against the trunk of a nearby tree as sheltered as he could get. The catbirds were busy in the mulberry as well, and I saw a wood thrush several times in and out of the tree, along with a red bellied woodpecker.
