Morgan's Pond in Christian County is drying up quickly now, and probably will remain no more than a week without substantial rainfall. Several birds of particular interest were present today including: A lingering Canvasback and Ring-necked Duck Approximately 15 Blue-winged Teal including 2 broods of grown or nearly grown juveniles Female Wood Duck with 12 tiny ducklings Cattle Egret American Golden Plover..... A molting adult which set a new early fall date for Kentucky. Lesser Yellowlegs Solitary Sandpiper Spotted Sandpiper Least Sandpiper (3) Pectoral Sandpiper Also present was an adult female Northern Harrier molting her primaries.
