[birdky] Mitchell Lake & JC 8/31

Melissa and I spent the morning sorting through shorebirds at Mitchell Lake.
The lake is lower, it was difficult to get a true number of the more
numerous species.
Highlights were:
American Wigeon - this bird flew with the teal it doesn't seem to be the
injured bird but could be the juvenile we saw earlier in the season. I did
photograph it today.
Blue-winged teal
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Sanderling
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Baird's Sandpiper - 3
Pectoral Sandpiper
Buff-breasted Sandpiper - 1juv
Least Tern
Black Tern

We stopped to check the flats at Jonathan Creek and found the lake has risen
to cover much of the habitat. A few birds were seen:
Killdeer
Greater Yellowlegs
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Forster's Tern
