[birdky] McElroy

McElroy Lake in Warren County continues to drop, but
the cloudy, drizzly weather should help maintain it
for a few more days. Waterfowl numbers continue to
increase, with the same species represented as in past
reports.

Eleven species of shorebirds were observed this
morning, with the following minimum numbers present:

Killdeer 100
Black-bellied Plover 3
Am. Golden Plover 2
Gr. Yellowlegs 15
Lesser Yellowlegs 15-20
Least Sandpiper 5
Pectoral Sandpiper 6
Long-billed Dowitcher 12
Dunlin 151
Stilt Sandpiper 4
W. Snipe 15-20

A female/juvenile Merlin was having fun harassing the
shorebirds.
