[birdky] Marydale (Boone County) and Walton (Kenton County)

I'm a little behind the times on posting.....last few weeks of school take
their toll on my time.

Thursday 4/12/05 - Marydale/Catholic Center
Spotted Sandpiper (3rd year in a row that one showed up in the same
spot...same time)
Turkeys
Belted Kingfisher
Green Heron
2 Great Egrets
2 Blue-winged Teal
2 Pied-Billed Grebes
2 Eastern Kingbirds
2 Cooper's Hawks
(I should have known all those pairs were an omen for the rain/storms over
the weekend)

Saturday 4/23 Backyard (south of Walton)
A red-headed woodpecker showed up during the torrential downpour. He had a
ravenous appetite most of the afternoon and then spent the rest of the day
caching nuts in the trees. It's only the 3rd time that I've seen a
red-headed woodie in my backyard. He stayed until Sunday night.

Also a white-crowned sparrow.

Thursday 4/28/05 - Marydale
This morning the Spotted Sandpiper is still present and there was a
beautiful Baltimore Oriole serenading before school.
