TOOK A LEISURELY DRIVE AROUND THE MITCHELL LAKE AREA THIS AFTERNOON
BEFORE WORK.  RECENT HEAVY RAIN HAS COVERED THE MUDFLATS ON MITCHELL BUT
LOWER BEAVER DAM SLOUGH HAS MODERATELY EXTENSIVE MUDFLAT ON THE NORTH
END.   HIGHLIGHTS:
 
GREAT EGRET 4
SNOWY EGRET  1  IN STRIKING BREEDING PLUMAGE WITH DEEP ORANGE/RED LORES.
LEAST TERN  18
CLIFF SWALLOW  50 (MOSTLY JUVENILES)
MISS KITE  2
DICKCISSELS SEEM TO BE ESPECIALLY ABUNDANT THIS YEAR
