[birdky] MITCHELL LAKE

While driving around with the family at Ballard today I got distant looks at a
couple of good birds. There is an adult male Black-bellied Plover in gorgeous
breeding plumage on Mitchell Lake north of the levee. This bird could be
accessed from the duck trap station if it stays around. There was also a
Dowitcher with a fairly long bill in the same area near the north end of the
exposed bar. Both birds were too far for good looks but I was able to get a
couple of identifiable pictures of the plover. Several peeps and common
shorebirds were also still present as well as large numbers of waders.
