[birdky] Lake #9 - White Ibis 8/10

We saw an immature White Ibis when we first arrived on the mud flat that
used to be Lake #9. We later saw either the same bird or another one at the
south end. I have reviewed the photographs and there is a possibility that we
had 2 birds. One bird had white feathers on the crown of its head which I
don't see on the first photos.
Other birds of interest were:
Wood Duck
Wild Turkey -10
Great Blue Heron - one eating a snake
Great Egret - 35 not many now that the lake has dried
Snowy Egret - 30
Little Blue Heron - 100+
Yellow-crowned Night Heron - 1
Mississippi Kite - 21
Bald Eagle - 2
Cooper's Hawk - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
American Kestrel - 1
Killdeer
Greater Yellowlegs - 10
Lesser Yellowlegs - 8
Solitary Sandpiper - 4
Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Pectoral Sandpiper - 17
Least Tern - 3
Barred Owl - 1
Fish Crow
The lake is mostly dry and habitat will be gone in a few days at the rate it
is evaporating. There is one small puddle at the north end and one slightly
larger puddle at the south end.
The kites were in dragon fly heaven today.
