The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher family was active below Barkley Dam this morning in the area near the boat ramp. Their "kip" notes could be heard constantly. Other birds of interest today included an Olive-sided Flycatcher in Marshall County, and a juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron at Jonathan Creek on Kentucky Lake. Migrant waterfowl noted were an American Wigeon and two Gadwall on Kentucky Lake in Calloway County. Shorebird habitat is improving as the lakes begin to drop, and a few birds representing common species were present on the flats. An Olive-sided Flycatcher was also observed on the Sinclair Unit of the Peabody wma yesterday, August 26. Dave __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
