KOS Spring Meeting Reminder

This is a reminder that the KOS Spring Meeting will be held 28 â 30 April 
2006 at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park.  Lodge rooms and cottages are being 
held only THROUGH 28 FEBRUARYY.  Campsites are available first come-first 
served.

The primary speakers for both Friday and Saturday nights are already 
established.  On Friday evening, DANIEL MOSS will speak on his research at the 
Fort Campbell WMA KY/TN regarding Bachmanâs Sparrow and other grassland 
species.  On Saturday evening, DOUG STOTZ, Environmentalist and Ornithologist 
from CHICAGOâS FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY will be the featured speaker.  
Mr. Stotz is expected to discuss the impact of Lake Michigan and the City of 
Chicago/skyscrapers on Bird Migration and may also touch on the use of 
specimens in ornithology.  He is expected to bring a few sample skins from the 
Field Museum collection as a part of his presentation.

In addition, a silent auction fundraiser will be held both evenings.  Contact 
Hap Chambers at hapc1@xxxxxxx or Dona Coates at donacoates@xxxxxxx for further 
details.  Bird/nature books, bird/nature items, or any other item you might 
wish to donate/bring will be appreciated.  Hap and Dona do ask that you try to 
contact them with you list if items in advance to facilitate organization of 
the event.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATIIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  THIS IS A SMALL 
LODGE.  THE ENTIRE LODGE IS BEING HELD.  DONâT BE LATE AN MISS A ROOM AT THE 
LODGE.
