[birdky] Interesting bird singings

This morning the song of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak falling on my ears stopped 
me in my tracks, I paused and listened for a spell...then (clearly from the 
same bird) there followed an unexpected strain, then.... the usual strains of 
the Northern Mockingbird!  His rendition of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak song was 
utterly fabulous!  He even had most of the tone quality.  I wanted to applaud 
him!
   
  An individual White-Throated Sparrow was doing some pretty individual 
take-offs on the usual song pattern and interspersed within the usual song.  He 
probably did about four different really unique variations (not counting 
truncations as variations).  Like a familiar song you still recognize on the 
radio but being "jazzed" up by an individual performer.
