[birdky] INFO: Transient lakes articles pdfs

I recently had a chance to scan a couple of Gordon Wilson's articles on
the Transient Lakes in southern Warren County from 1940 and 1951. These
are his two most comprehensive articles and in addition to listing bird
observations they include some info about the nature of the lakes,
themselves. Dr. Wilson put the transient lakes near Woodburn "on the
map" with many interesting records beginning in the 1920s! Most of his
articles are referenced in Robert Mengel's Birds of Kentucky (AOU 1965),
which is still available through Buteo Books (google it) and still VERY
much worth its modest $25.00 price.

Gary Ritchison has posted the two articles to the KOS web site at the
following link:

Sorry if the pdf orientation is flipped 90 degrees; in Adobe reader, you
should be able to rotate them to proper orientation or print them out to
read. If you would like to read the articles but *cannot* open the pdf
files, email me and I can try another format.

Also ... if you'd happen to be interested in having originals, the Ky
Ornithological Society has copies of the back issues of The Kentucky
Warbler containing these articles. They are available for purchase for
$2.00 per issue plus shipping. Anyone interested can email me.
