Nine people in four parties came to our place today to try for the Harris's Sparrow. Steve & Teresa Graham arrived here first at 8:30. About an hour later and about 15 minutes after the arrival of Rob Foster and Rebecca Bates, the sparrow made its first appearance. The last two parties, which included Brainard, Eddie Huber, Major Waltman, Jamie Baker & Tanner Shepard just missed the sparrow's first appearance and had to wait something like 2 more hours for it to appear again, close to mid day. Not long after making its second appearance, it appeared several more times in close succession. This little sparrow has now earned its keep and will remain on the sunflower seed/cracked corn payroll for as long as it chooses to stay. I believe all except Rob Foster & Rebecca Bates headed to the Prairie Falcon stakeout in Hopkins County after leaving here. I didn't take any pictures today, but several others did.
