A windy day with highs in the 20's tested our mettle, but we managed to find
61 species under less than ideal conditions.

Highlights included 5 harriers, a flock of 25 Brewer's blackbirds, and a
common loon (first one for this count).

I agree with Brainard's earlier comments about a scarcity of wild food. We
couldn't turn up yellow-rumped warblers, waxwings, or robins. Red-headed
woodpeckers failed to put in an appearance for the first time ever on this
count. I have noticed previously that they don't deem very active in bad
weather. John Brittain will submit the complete list to the Brainard for the
Ky Warbler.

Birders included Bonnie Avery, Bruce Bardin, John Brittain (compiler), Lisa
Brittain, Carol Friedman, Dan Givens, Janet Kistler, and Steve Kistler.
Janet took some nice pictures of the blackbirds showing the eye color
differences between the males and females, if anyone would like to see them.
