We went for an afternoon/evening look at the existing shorebird habitat in
Fulton County. We were not disappointed by what we found. Our first stop was
the upper Hickman bottoms. Our next stop was Lake #9 where we stayed until
the rain and dark motivated us toward home.
Northern Shoveler - 6 (#9)
DC Cormorant -25
Great Egret - 350+ the roost at Lake #9 was much smaller than a few weeks ago
Little Blue Heron - 3
Bald Eagle - 2
Northern Harrier - 1
Red-tailed Hawk
American Kestrel - 1
American Coot - 1 (#9)
Black-necked Stilt - 8 all at upper Hickman bottoms
American Avocet - 1
Greater yellowlegs - 4
Lesser Yellowlegs - 2 & 6
Solitary Sandpiper - 1 & 2
Spotted Sandpiper - 2 & 3
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 7 & 30
Least Sandpiper - 5 & 35
Pectoral Sandpiper - 2 & 6
