[birdky] Feeder birds

My Pine Siskin numbers continue to be 20 or more every day. There
are almost as many as Goldfinch. For the first time in the years I
have been watching my backyard feeders, I had a White-Crowned Sparrow
yesterday. The cold and snow are bringing lots of birds in to my
feeders and heated bird bath.
For the last month I have a large Downy Woodpecker visiting my
feeders. I thought it was a Hairy at first, but the bill is a Downy
bill. What is so unusual is that everywhere it should be white it is
a reddish tan. Even the spots are tan. I am trying to get a picture
but it never seems to get in the right position. Has anyone else
seen such a Downy? No other woodpecker in my East or West bird books
approximates it. P
