We spent a beautiful morning at Songbird Hill yesterday situated right behind Keeneland.  We saw thirty species, most of whom were making a home on the property which is well planted with native species and loaded with boxes and feeders. Highlights included a pair of Baltimore Orioles, Brown Thrashers, a drumming Pileated Woodpecker, Indigo Buntings, Bluebirds, and Cedar Waxwings. I wish I could bird by ear as we heard many songs living up to the name. A single Rose Breasted Grosbeak was there and all of the usual yard birds.  She has at least 10 pair of Purple Martins and maybe more swooping over her grassland. Maybe summer is coming.
