First kingbird of the season hung around the pond and seemed oblivious to all
the purple martin activity. Earlier this week, we had our first chippies back,
and just as I focused in on one in the grass, he hopped up beside a tall
dandelion seed head (puff ball), took 3 or 4 quick hops to his left, right up
the stem, riding it over to the ground and proceeded to have lunch! I don't
know why, but it it just tickled me immensely to see this bit of ingenuity!
Isn't Spring Great?!
