How wonderful to hear the WOOD THRUSH'S song floating down from the
woods as I stood on the deck outside our bedroom this morning! And,
right now, one is singing just above my studio where I have several
windows open. Les and I always wait anxiously to hear the FOS WOOD
THRUSH. Yesterday as I sat on the patio having lunch, a male
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER came to the bottom branch of the spruce in front
of me, and then jumped down on the waterfall of the lower fish pond only
three feet from me. From there he flew to a blooming redbud tree which
hangs over the patio. What a treat! INDIGO BUNTINGS have also returned
and have been singing from various locations nearby, but none have come
to the feeding areas yet. Add to all of these delights the songs of some
lingering WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS.
Cheers,
Joan Carr
