[birdky] Eagle + sundry sightings

This morning I saw 4 Tree Sparrows by a neighbor's old hay rolls, then a Brown
Creeper & a Yellow-rumped warbler in a nearby woods. As I walked back home, my
nephew pulled over to tell me he had just seen a Bald Eagle on 848 just beyond
Guthrie Swamp. He had been to the pick up his check at the Guthrie Livestock
Market and had seen the same Eagle, both on the way and coming home eating a
possum beside the road. Several vehicles were stopped along the road and people
were taking pictures with camera phones.
Alison and I drove down, but it was gone when we got there. We did see one
Eagle sitting on the nest and at the pull off we saw several Canada Geese and 8
Green-winged Teals. Also saw an Eurasian Collared Dove in downtown Keysburg.
While at the pull off, a car drove by slowly, turned around and came back. I
flagged down the driver and asked her if she was looking for the Eagle. "'No,"
she said, "I was looking for Tundra Swans." She turned out to be a new birder
to the area named Debbie Hamilton and had previously seen Tundra Swans at
Guthrie Swamp. Take note, insightful, gainfully employed genius Olmstead CBC
compiler. She now lives in our count circle.
