Four hearty souls participated in the Beckham Birdclub outing At E.P. Tom
Sawyer State Park this morning. In spite of cold windy weather and generally
slow bird activity, 30 species were spotted. The highlight was a flock of
about 40 noisy Sandhill Cranes that flew over and then started circling as
if looking for a place to land east of the park.
Other highlights included Ruby-Crowned and Golden-Crowned Kinglets,
Yellow-Rumped Warblers, Brown Creepers, and Dark-Eyed Juncos.
