Finally the shorebirds are making an appearance on the Blood River area mud
flats. Highlights from our morning survey were:
Gadwall - 4
American White Pelican - 385 what a sight to watch them take off and circle
above us.
Bald Eagle - 4
Killdeer
Least Sandpiper - 7
Dunlin - 1
Shorebird species - 19 these birds appeared to be Pectoral SP but the
shimmers made it too difficult to be positive. I hope to get a better look
this
weekend if they stay around.
Forster's Tern - 4
Eastern Phoebe - 2
Fish Crow - 1
Tree Swallow - 1
Cedar Waxwing - 30+ we are seeing hundreds around the Murray State Campus
this week.
Pine Warbler - 1
