[birdky] DC Cormorant

In Melissa's Jonathan Creek post, she reminded us not to be complacent about
the common birds we see every day and included cormorants among those common
birds often taken for granted.
Funny that she should mention cormorants. Mark Bennett and I saw a Double
Crested Cormorant just a few days ago (Oct 13) on a farm pond here in Logan
County. It was a life bird for me and a county bird for Mark. (You can tell I
don't visit the big lakes much). We thought for a while that it looked like it
could be a Neotropical Cormorant but from pictures, Dave Roemer says no. If
Dave says no, it's no.
Just because our bird wasn't a Neotropical Cormorant doesn't mean one
couldn't be hiding among the ho-hum throngs of DC Cormorants on the big lakes.
