[birdky] Colorful morning

This morning, cold, dark, damp and breezy though it was, we had color in the
yard: 10 R-b Grosbeaks (2 were females) at the feeders . Also had 10-12
beautiful yellowrumps singing non-stop, and 9 Pine Siskins still lingering.
Among others jazzing up the palette were a pair of Scarlet Tanagers, Indigo
buntings (2 m., 1 f.), 4 Red-headed Woodpeckers (at the suet at the same time),
Baltimore Orioles (2 m.), Yellow Warblers, Prothonotaries, and a singing
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (red patch bristling). This is the first time I've heard a
R-c Kinglet carry on in song--he only scolded me once in 15 minutes of
observation.
