[birdky] Cicadas emerging - birds feasting

The big hatch of periodical cicadas predicted for portions of Kentucky
has begun in my back yard. I noticed numerous cicadas emerging under my
pear tree this evening. I picked one up and made it fly. The tree
swallows ignored it in the air but a song sparrow ambushed it after it
hit the ground. Other birds feasting on the cicadas this evening
included mockingbirds, a brown thrasher, and a robin. This should be
fun to observe over the next several weeks.
