On July 17 about noon, I was in a MD's office on the third floor of The Springs, on Dutchman's Lane in St. Matthews, KY. I looked out the window and saw a Cedar Waxwing trying it's best to get in. I was telling the workers there what the bird was and how surprised I was to see it there. They said the bird had been doing this for days. The building is right next to the Watterson X-way, however, there are some tall River Birch planted around the building. The bird kept up this behavior; not flying into the window, just looking in the window. It didn't seem to be fighting it's image. The windows from the outside of the building look something like two-way glass. I could see the reflection of trees in the windows. What could cause this type of behavior? Seems too late for nesting.
