[birdky] Calloway County CBC

With most of the count sheets submitted we recorded 77 species on  12/27/08.  
Unusual weather conditions made counting a challenge.   Temperatures were 
pleasant but wind gust up to 39 mph kept the birds quiet and  the waterfowl 
hunkered along the shoreline.  
The two Tundra Swans on Blood River were easier to see than the Ruddy  Ducks. 
 It is nice they stayed to be counted.  
Two Fish Crows were reported from the Wildcat area of Blood River, this  will 
be a early date for their return.  Who could blame them for wanted to  come 
back to KY in the balmy winter winds.  
The Calloway County Barn Owl was one of two owls counted.  No  matter how ha
rd I hooted nothing but a Screech Owl would talk back!
