[birdky] Re: Cackling Goose

Subsequent to Steve's post on my Cackling/Canada Goose scientific name
error, I've been trying unsuccessfully to relocate the source of the
information that I used for that article in The Kestrel. I know I didn't
dream up the genus name change, and I also know I'm no Dan Rather . . . but
I must have repeated an error I saw on some web source (I have not seen the
AOU Supplement, itself, but remember taking info from something that had
been posted elsewhere on the web as the basis of the article's content). I'm
sure the AOU list that Steve cites is not incorrect, but I am curious if
anyone else recalls seeing this phantom genus switch elsewhere on the
internet. Thanks.
