Everyone who goes to see the pelican might want to just keep their eye on
it's health with the upcoming cold temperatures next week. When I lived and
worked in NC, brown pelicans were VERY susceptible to cold temperatures. One
year when the Temps got into the teens...hundreds and hundreds of pelicans
died. The get frostbite on their pouches and in their webbed feet. This
usually lead to their death because they can't feed with big holes in their
pouch. Hopefully this pelican will get out of here soon.
