Diane  . . . . . I am not an expert birder, but regarding the
RT Hummingbird - I would be surprised if it were sick because it is visiting
your feeder.  Hummers stay around this area sometimes to late October.  Your
Hummer may be just "fattening" him(her)self for the trip south.  The Hummer
will leave the feeder to at the proper time to go to his(her) nighttime
roost.  RE cats.  Cats do just as much damage to birds at night as they do
during the day.  I've seen my neighbors cats crossing my yard at night with
birds they have caught.  Their choice of victims is different.
