[birdky] Bobwhites

Last Thursday, April 23, I heard my first Bobwhite of the year. Since it
was only a few calls, I made sure over the weekend. We have at least 2,
maybe 3, of them calling from the brush and trees.

Also saw a pair of Brown Thrashers. This is the 3rd year for them. When I
last wrote, I had listed 3 different woodpeckers. I forgot that the Flicker
is also in that family, so we have 4. A Mallard and mate have been spending
a lot of time on our pond. There is a large lake nearby, but they seem to
like the quieter location we have. One of the wild rabbits was dining under
the birdfeeder with some of the Redwings. No one seemed bothered by the
other. There were a dozen or so Tree Swallows out and one Barn Swallow.
