[birdky] Blood River(Ky. Lake)

Hap's mudflats are finally emerging.I think she calls it Crappie Hollow?
Not 10 feet from my kayak I observed probably 20+ Least Sandpipers some in
reddish brown plumage. There was one Semi-palmated Sandpiper, two
Semi-palmated Plovers, one Greater Yellowlegs, and two Lessers. A Little
Blue Heron was feeding among the Great Egrets, at least one of six Green
Herons flew every time I raised my paddle, and a Snipe was calling, with
White-eyed Vireos and a Summer Tanager in the background. A lean Bobcat ran
across the road on my way out.
Prior to Blood River, I paddled a creek in the Irvin Cobb area but was
stopped by a beaver dam. I decided not to portage the dam, turned around,
and was rewarded by a Solitary Sandpiper feeding on the creek's edge.
No snakes, no skeeters, no biting flies, a gentle breeze, and a great day.
