[birdky] Blood River

Kentucky Lake has dropped over a foot since Friday. Mud flat means
shorebirds this time of year and I wasn't disappointed to have 23 Pectoral
Sandpipers
feeding this afternoon. The number of Pelicans has dropped but there were
at least 250 birds on the mud flat.
Other birds of interest were:
Pied Billed Grebe
Green-winged teal
Wood Duck
Gadwall
Hooded Merganser
Bonaparte's Gull - they are back in the bays sporting black heads and bright
red legs. Barkley Lake was covered with Bonaparte's Gulls Saturday
afternoon.
