[birdky] Black Mountain May 9

Some days are magical.
Spent this morning at Black Mountain. Birds were active, and it was just
one of those times you want to store and replay later.

Decided to keep a tally on some species. Here are the counts on those
species:

* chestnut-sided warbler:  58
* ovenbird:  26
* black-throated blue warbler:  20
* veery:  20
* least flycatcher:  17
* blue-headed vireo:  10
* Canada warbler: 10 (I swear I had more than this, but 10 is what the
tally says.)
* Am. redstart:  9
* common raven: 2 (maybe 4; seen widely separated in time and space, so
could have been the same birds)
* cerulean warbler:  1
* ruffed grouse:  1
* blackburnian warbler: 0 (well, zero is a number, too, and I did try to
find them).

Plus, had the joy of:
* dark-eyed juncos and summer temperatures
* rose-breasted grosbeak and blue-headed vireo females carrying vegetative
material, presumably for nests
* my first Kentucky black bear. The bear wasn't aware of me at first, and
then startled when he/she saw me. I hope I'm at least a checkmark on the
bear's year list.
