[birdky] Re: Birding Fest in S. Illinois

This is an excellent event which unfortunately is held the same weekend
as the Spring KOS state meeting.  This has been the case for the last 2
- 3 years and has prevented/reduced participation by Kentucky birders.

It is unfortunate that this conflict exists and we hope that the IL
folks will consider a different weekend in the future.

To all those birders interested in helping out with a Southern Illinois
Birding Blitz and also interested in seeing some cool birds..... The
Birding Fest 2005 of Southernmost Illinois will be held on 29 April - 1
May 2005 at the Cache River Wetlands Center, rain or shine.  There will
be birding competitions, an owl prowl, guided canoe trips, live bird
demos, hikes, and an evening at the Cache River Basin Vinyard & Winery
(a must see...and sample event!).  For more information please visit
http://www.birdingblitz.org or call the Cypress Creek National Wildlife
Refuge at 618/634-2231.  If you haven't seen this area of Southern
Illinois, you're missing out on one of the most spectacular places in
this region. Check it out!
