Title: Berea Woods/good day/activity along paths
Another good day at Berea College woods. Interesting things happened today just a few feet away from me near the paths. A yellow-throated warbler flitted near the ground just a few feet away. Soon, a kentucky warbler did the same thing. I scared up a bobwhite too. At another spot, I heard rustling and found two box turtles, on either side of the path. Will they ever meet? A good-sized black snake raced away faster than any snake I've ever seen, making me wonder if it was a racer instead of a rat snake.
These warblers seen today give an idea of the activity: yellow-rumped, yellowthroat, yellow-throated, parula, prairie, kentucky (many), hooded (tons), black-and-white, bt green, L waterthrush, blue-winged (2), pine, and oven.
