[birdky] Berea Woods/5/7/black-t blue

Title: Berea Woods/5/7/black-t blue

Unpleasant birding conditions with the rain and cold but lots of birds this morning at Berea College Woods. Like a year ago, I didn't believe it when I first heard the song of the black-throated blue warbler--I figured it was possibly a parula doing one of its "imitations." Fortunately, a little later, I was able to see the bird. An exciting find on a cool, wet, uncomfortable morning. The bird was in the woods on the left not far from the parking lot.

20 warblers in all, with these highlights or firsts for me there this year: Black-Throated Blue, Cape May, Chestnut-Sided. I wouldn't be surprised if 6-7 more species were there. The rain drove me away. A number of songs I didn't "get." And several species I saw without hearing their songs, e.g. a black-throated green.

Happy to see a purple finch too.
