[birdky] Barren Reservoir 13 February 2007

Late this afternoon, 1200-1500 dabblers dropped into
the Grass/Goose Islands area but most were not within
viewing range due to poor visibility. I was able to
look through a few hundred of which most were
Mallards. Other species observed were Black, Pintail
(appr. 20) and GW Teal.

A mixed flock of divers was present near the dam
including Redhead, L Scaup and Goldeneye. Scattered
Hooded Mergansers totalled 60-70 birds.

Four Bald Eagles were observed near the Narrows
including 3 adults.

Two flocks of northbound Sandhill Cranes totalling
approximately 100 were observed as were about 350-400
dropping into the Skaggs/Peters Creeks area.

Four Herring Gulls were present with the many
Ring-billeds and Bonies.

A Herring Gull was also present at Griffin Park in
Bowling Green today with 20+ Ring-billeds.
