This afternoon, Bridge and I went out in light rain looking for early blooming
flowers. Bridge flushed a Barred Owl from its perch by a woodland buttercup
patch. It flew directly toward me to within 15 feet or so, then banked left and
perched momentarily very nearby before flying off further. Coming straight at
me, its dark eyes were unmistakable, even though I didn't have time to even
raise my binoculars.
