Sunday 5-11-2003 The woods at Lost River Cave Valley this morning were full of migrants and bird songs! Though it was somewhat windy in the parking lot, down in the narrow valley it was more calm and song could be heard. The highlights included: Tennessee Warbler (1) Magnolia Warbler (10+) two males, many females Cape May Warbler (4) three males, one female Yellow-rumped Warbler (3) females Blackburnian Warbler (1) male Prairie Warbler (1) male Blackpoll Warbler (7) one female Palm Warbler (1) male American Redstart (10+) three adult males, two first spring males CONNECTICUT WARBLER (1) male sang several times Wilson's Warbler (4) singing males Yellow-breasted Chat (3) Yellow-billed Cuckoo (4) Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2) Least Flycatcher (1) sang a couple times Empidonax species (1) probably Willow Gray-cheeked Thrush (1) Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2) Jackie B.
