Four of us birded the Riverwalk in Shawnee Park in western Jefferson County this morning. It started out slow but picked up as the morning progressed. In all we totaled 52 species including 12 species of warblers. Some of the highlights were Red-headed Woodpecker Pewee Least Flycatcher Red-br. Nuthatches --3 Swainson's Thrush Warbling Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Warblers - Tennessee,Nashville,Yellow, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia,Black-thr. Green, Bl.-and wh., Redstart, No. Waterthrush,Kentucky Wilson's, and Canada(2). Scarlet Tanager Rose-br. Grosbeak Baltimore Oriole On Sunday the Bell sisters observed a Gray-cheeked Thrush, Veeries and a No. Waterthrush at the same location.
